About the Company

We all waste a staggering amount of time (~33%) because we have no idea where we are spending it. Worse yet, we continue to operate in a factory model that simply does not apply to creative work. Our big bet is that by understanding time, we’ll be able to move away from it as a unit of value. In the future knowledge economy (lawyers, accountants, engineers), contributions will be assessed on value added, not the underlying time spent adding it.

Ambitious mission to say the least, so where are we starting? We have created a new market category called Time Automation that automates the timekeeping process for professionals and allows us to collect time data at scale. Before our solution, professionals had to manually record every six minutes of their day into antiquated timekeeping software. Not anymore.

We are a Series B company (>$55M in venture capital from Tier 1 funds) that has assembled some of the best builders, designers, and product minds in tech—and we all have one thing in common: we are deeply motivated by our mission to return time.

About the Role

Come lead, build, and steward our Marketing department as our Head of Marketing! This role guides how we show up in the world—to our potential customers and colleagues as well as current customers, partners, and colleagues. With a balance of strategy, execution, and team growth, you’ll support the entire marketing function as it scales from a team of 1 (Product Marketing Manager) to a size that can become the engine of the business moving forward.

As aspiring category creators, we need to be bold in how we set ourselves apart from the perceived competition. We can’t take off without a compelling, differentiated vision made tangible through authentic human stories, and are looking for a leader to harmonize and orchestrate our approach across all facets of marketing. Beyond defining and owning delivery and efficiency metrics (e.g., MQL/SQL, CPL, CAC, and LTV), ultimate success in this role will be measured in how we shape the conversation about time at work, and how it can be improved. You’ll have a chance to build a team from scratch within an organization that really believes in the power of marketing, and the importance of investing in it.

Core Duties:

  • Support the entire marketing function: create the strategy, set success metrics, plan and manage the execution, and support and grow a small team plus vendors
  • Own and execute on our product positioning and go-to-market approach
  • Maintain a strong understanding of customer behavior, the competitive landscape, and industry trends
  • Collaborate with the product, sales, and customer success teams to ensure a consistent customer experience throughout the customer journey
  • Guide the development and execution of our corporate communications/PR strategy
  • Drive the demand funnel to support pipeline generation through fully-integrated go-to-market campaigns

Skills and Experience

Qualifications and experience we’re looking for:

  • At least 7 years of marketing experience 
  • At least 2 years of cross-functional marketing leadership + stewardship experience
  • Experience supporting a top-down enterprise sales motion
  • Experience building a marketing function from scratch (or close to it) 
  • As a manager, a focus on servant leadership, humility, accountability, boldness, creativity, and kindness
  • B2B software (SaaS), particularly AI-based (bonus)

Flexibility and Logistics

Location: Fully remote, or in our offices (San Francisco or Los Angeles, CA). If you’re close to our SF or LA offices, we’d love to have you into the office at least once a week once it’s safe (targeting 2022).

Work Times: Core hours of 10am-2pm PT M-F, but otherwise completely flexible.

Compensation: Competitive salary, generous equity, comprehensive medical/dental/vision coverage with covered  premiums, 401(k), additional benefits including wellness/commuter/FSA stipends.
