Job Description

The One-Shopify partnerships team manages deep product alliances with some of the largest commerce partners in the world such as Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Apple, Snap, Pinterest, TikTok, eBay or Walmart.

As a Solutions Architect you will be an integral part of redefining our partners commerce roadmap as powered by Shopify’s technology. You will be responsible for knowing Shopify’s platform, new, upcoming and existing features, to support the complex implementation of our partners who push the boundaries of what is possible today. Partners help our product roadmap accelerate, and in turn, Shopify helps transform their applications into surfaces where commerce happens.

You will work through discovery and strategic consulting sessions, create product demos and code proofs of concept. You will align with product, engineering, and UX teams on future roadmaps by sharing partner feedback back on released features and client trends to the teams, and be an integral part of our partnership strategy by increasing the depth of our partner’s integrations with Shopify. You will need to have a full understanding of your partner's business and technical needs, and be able to recommend the most ideal ways to build solutions with our platform. Your team will support any technical questions and general partner development during build, launch, and post-launch. 

You’ll get to:

  • Engage with our most strategic and largest Partners at any point in their journey from a technical requirements perspective for both our Partner Managers team and partner developers.
  • Define architectures and highly scalable solutions for our most complex and exciting Partners
  • Become an expert on Shopify’s application ecosystem and integrations while learning how we address Security and Compliance issues
  • Mentor and coach other Partner facing teams at Shopify on technical aspects of our platform

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in solutions engineering, technical partner success, or consulting highly technical audiences and executives
  • Solid understanding of Cloud-based technologies and SaaS fundamentals 
  • Expertise in technical architectures, integrations, and security
  • Deep understanding of technical strategy as it relates to operating and growing commerce businesses
  • Hands-on skills in Frontend Web development (HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Liquid) 
  • Strong API knowledge (REST and GraphQL) for complex integrations 
  • Great troubleshooting and analytical skills combined with the desire to tackle challenges head-on
  • Passion to build things from the ground up and share your expertise with the broader team
  • A great video conference presence with confidence having a high level of executive acumen

Is some of this technology new to you? That’s okay! We know not everyone will come in fully familiar with this stack, and we provide support to learn on the job. If you’ve had experience in the following areas, you should consider applying: 

  • Commerce experience and knowledge of latest trends (storefront implementation, omni-channel, supply chain, B2B, etc.)
  • Extensive experience in pre-sales solutions engineering or consulting
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Github)
