Over our first four years, Pushkin has built a diversified media operation. Our portfolio is growing rapidly, as is our need to sustain our business through varied revenue streams. We’re looking for a Director of Podcast Revenue to own two key components of our business: advertising and subscriptions. This person will ensure that Pushkin meets our revenue targets while bridging the gap between our growing content slate and our external sales representation. The ideal candidate is a motivated individual with a strong sales skillset and ability to understand our partners’ wants and needs. They are able to creatively and confidently present opportunities and bring them to fruition. This role reports to the Chief Business Officer. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Power the day-to-day relationship between Pushkin and our external podcast sales partner, who drives Pushkin’s single largest line of business
  • Develop and maintain sales materials to support all podcast sales and RFP responses
  • Evaluate sales performance and support our 3rd-party sales partner 
  • Ensure podcast ad production is on track across the catalog
  • Vet inbound advertiser programs for fit with specific creative and brand affiliation
  • Act as the internal Pushkin stakeholder for sales and coordinate with development and production on revenue driving opportunities
  • Liaise with VP of Partnerships on custom executions that come through the sales pipeline
  • Track the performance of the Pushkin+ subscription program and collaborate with internal teams to drive business outcomes

SKILLS + QUALIFICATIONS 

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Deep knowledge of digital media sales and ability to apply that knowledge effectively
  • 5+ years of experience in sales, sales enablement, marketing or media consulting
  • Demonstrated track record of driving revenue growth
  • High emotional intelligence combined with business savvy
  • Data-driven mindset evidenced by ability to digest and effectively use data
  • Excellent organization, written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate and work collaboratively with all levels of creative talent and management
  • Expert collaborator, able to work internally and externally to achieve objectives
  • Experience with audio sales a strong plus

This is a full-time staff position that will be based in New York, NY with a hybrid work arrangement. To ensure safety among ourselves and our communities, we require that all Pushkin employees are fully vaccinated with the FDA-approved COVID-19 vaccine and booster shots.

Compensation will comprise a base salary, full benefits (medical, dental, vision), and eligibility for an annual performance bonus and stock options in the company. Pushkin employees have two-week a Pushkin-wide holiday break where the entire company closes so that everyone can truly relax and recharge, an additional two weeks of paid vacation, paid holidays, and eligibility for parental leave.
