WHERE YOU’LL FIT IN THE TEAM:

The Growth Manager reports directly to the Engagement & Growth Director and will be an

integral part of the Engagement & Growth Team, working closely with the President. This

position will manage the Team’s recruitment of new donor members and coordinate raising funds

from existing donors, institutional funders and other potential sources, including personally

soliciting contributions from a portfolio of existing major donors.

Washington, D.C. or remotely in New York City.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Supervise Growth Associate: Oversee research and relationship-mapping to identify

new politically-connected major donors and other grasstops leaders (business owners,

etc.) to financially support and join V4P as donor members. Manage efforts to connect

the President and Engagement & Growth Director with prospective and current donor

members for fundraising.

Individual Fundraising: Personally ensure annual renewals and increased contributions

from a portfolio of existing donor members contributing $10,000 or less. Edit, draft, and

help shape the message of communications to prospective donor members in proposals,

annual reports, collateral materials, website, social media, etc. Help envision and manage

periodic additional fundraising campaigns from all existing donor members.

Institutional Fundraising: Manage all aspects of institutional fundraising, including

overseeing research and identification, coordinating cultivation, writing proposals, and

creating reports for relevant foundations, unions, and other institutional donors. In

addition, support efforts to expand/create other organizational revenue streams,

potentially including corporate sponsorships, ally fee for service arrangements, joint

proposals for foundation funding, etc.

WHAT WE PROVIDE:

The annual salary for this position is $70,000 (+). Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Flexible hours and strong commitment to work/life balance. All staff are currently working remotely.

WHAT YOU BRING:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.

At least four years of experience in a related field (e.g. non-profit development, political fundraising, philanthropy, or other types of relevant experience). An advanced degree may substitute for experience.

Strong fundraising experience, preferably with major donors and foundations or unions.

Relationships with progressive/liberal major political donors and foundations or unions are a plus, but not required.

Able to quickly learn relevant policy and programming topics to raise funds for work in these areas.

Excellent at writing for fundraising.
